No more videos, for the time being

YouTube recently completely banned Twitizer's account from uploading videos, due to a(nother) adult video.

This has happened almost 10 times, and it's a lot of work every time to get it going again, so this time we've decided to pause with videos altogether, until we find a sustainable solution where we can't get banned, whatever might be uploaded.

It's possible to manually age-restrict videos after upload, but for some reason there's no such default setting, nor can it be controlled when uploading a video via the API.

We've sent questions to YouTube's forum about this, and hopefully there's a way to indicate that any video submitted via Twitizer can contain adult content, even when it doesn't, to be on the safe side.

The reason it's so important that videos are uploaded to specifically YouTube is that YouTube links (and possibly Vimeo's) automatically generate a video preview in the tweet. That's something Twitter does based on the tweet text, so we have no control over that.

We'll keep you posted on the development, and we're sorry we came to this, but it's no point duct taping again, to then get banned again... ad nauseam. Even if it's not pleasant, we hope you understand our decision.
