New and improved

A few minor improvements have been made lately:
  • User icons are cached in Twitizer, meaning there can no longer be "broken" icons, even though they might still not be 100% up-to-date. This should also lead to better performance.
  • Many users change their icons often, so Twitizer will now refresh the icons on a daily basis.
  • What's happening? has been moved inside the text field to save some space on the screen.
  • Browser caching and GZIP compression have been activated and database queries have been optimized to increase overall performance.
  • The sharing toolbar has been improved.
  • Timeline can be sorted on relevance.
  • Users can be sorted on username.
  • Timeline and Users toolbars now use icons to enable wider text fields.

Advice:

  • If you make changes to your Twitter profile, you only need to log in to twitizer.com afterwards to have your information updated there as well.

Now with more speed

We've moved Twitizer to a new server, and it's noticeably faster now. Also, the problem with "hanging" pictures is gone. We hope you'll like it. Let us know if you experience any problems.

Problems with Twitter communication have been fixed

Twitter has again made changes in its API, causing side effects for Twitizer.

When communicating with Twitter it's now always required to provide user credentials. This affected downloading of user information (user icon, name, description etc). This has been fixed, and it seems the solution is stable and final (well, at least for now).

To update your information, just log in again, and your user information should be fetched from Twitter.

Video uploading woes

A new password for uploading videos to YouTube caused ripple effects, resulting in all video uploads via Twitizer failing for a while. That's now fixed, and redundant messages have been removed.

Posting via e-mail works again

Due to moving Twitizer to a new server, that was configured slightly differently, e-mail reception stopped working.

E-mail should now work fine again and all accumulated messages have been handled.

It took a while to understand what was wrong. Actually, nothing was wrong in Twitizer itself.
